Welcome! There is nothing I love more than to meet a group of writing friends at the local coffee shop to catch up and talk shop. Writing (whether you write for children or adults) is a lonely business, and it can be even lonelier when you live in the rural states of Nebraska or Iowa or South Dakota, often times miles and miles from the nearest city or writing group. But like our pioneer forefathers (and mothers), we have found a way to make it work.
This writing community is one example of that. Here, children’s writers from across the Midwest join together to share their thoughts and their expertise about this career we love with other like-minded individuals. Some of us write fiction; some of us write non- fiction. Some of us are published; some of us are not. Of those who are published, some have taken the traditional route; some have published non-traditionally. But regardless of who we are or where we are in our writing journey, we all have one thing in common: We Write for Kids! And we are so glad you’ve joined us. Grab a cup of coffee and a snack and sit a spell with us. We can’t wait to learn more about you and your writing.
